Aurora Leigh (AD)
audio description
Aurora Leigh
(she/they)
I am a 5'1 adult in her late 20's. My medium-length hair is (mostly) dyed purple. Depending on the day, I wear either glasses or contact lenses. I always wear my nose ring, but sometimes forget to wear earrings. Black-and-white and color tattoos that are visible on my right arm include different flowers, quotes from my mom, the moon, and a portrait of my childhood cat.

I moved to Boston for college in 2015 and have lived there ever since! Less than one-month after graduating with a Bachelor of Science, I was eager to begin my first full-time job as a Teaching Assistant with DeafBlind students. A few years later, I transitioned to an itinerant position as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) while attending graduate school. As a TVI working with teenage students, I have been able to focus on the importance of accessibility - especially in media!

Growing up, I used to participate in community, school, and non-profit theater productions. (I also recall winning runner-up during a forensic reading competition in elementary school - has anyone else ever heard of this type of competition??) Combining my previous performance experiences with my newfound love and understanding of accessibility would be a dream!
